Warrantix help
Frequently asked questions
Short answers about setup, plans, verification, claims and data. For step-by-step instructions see the documentation.
What does Warrantix do?
It runs a warranty program for your store: customers register a product on a form you share by link, QR code or the thank-you page block. Warrantix checks the order, validates the serial number against your list, rejects duplicates, then emails a branded warranty certificate PDF with a verification QR code. Claims arrive in a queue with photos and status updates.
How long does setup take?
About 15 minutes. Pick an industry preset on the dashboard (it creates a default warranty policy and an active registration form), optionally import serial numbers from CSV, then copy the share link or download the QR code. You can test the whole flow in a private browser window before showing it to customers.
Does the registration form work on a password-protected or unlaunched store?
Yes. Every form has a URL on the Warrantix domain (warrantix-production.up.railway.app/f/…) that works regardless of your storefront password. The same form is also available through the app proxy on your own domain once the store is live.
Do I need serial numbers to use Warrantix?
No. Serial numbers are optional. Forms can accept registrations with no serial, with a serial that is simply recorded, or with a serial that must match a batch you imported. Unknown serials can be accepted and flagged for review instead of rejected.
What does the Free plan include?
- 30 registrations per month (soft limit — customers are never blocked)
- 1 active registration form
- 100 serial numbers
- Claims with photo uploads, branded certificate PDFs, GPSR export, expiry reminder emails and the thank-you page block are all included on Free.
What do Pro and Parts add?
Pro ($15/month) removes the limits: unlimited registrations, serials and forms, and adds product safety recalls (publish a GPSR recall notice and email affected customers). Parts ($49/month) adds replacement-part management: map spare parts to products once, and approving a claim creates a fully discounted draft order with the right part, ready to ship through your normal fulfillment. Both include a 14-day free trial.
How does order verification work?
When a customer enters an order number and email, Warrantix looks the order up in your store, confirms the email matches, confirms the order is not cancelled, and confirms the selected product is actually on that order. Registrations for products bought elsewhere (retail, marketplaces) can still be accepted through serial validation.
Can customers register from the order confirmation page?
Yes. Add the Warrantix “Register product” block to your Thank-you and Order status pages in the checkout editor and point it at a form URL. Customers see a registration call to action right after they buy.
What is the GPSR export?
The EU General Product Safety Regulation requires traceability records that link products, batches and serials to the customers who received them. Warrantix exports registrations with serials, order references and dates as a CSV in one click so you can answer an authority request or run a recall.
Can Warrantix run a product safety recall?
- Yes. Open Recalls to draft a recall notice in the structure the EU General Product Safety Regulation (EU) 2023/988 sets in Article 36: the headline “Product safety recall” in each language, product pictures, name, brand and serial or batch numbers, when and where it was sold, a plain description of the hazard (words such as “voluntary” or “precautionary” are flagged), what to do — the instruction to stop using the product immediately is always included — the remedies (a choice of at least two of repair, replacement and refund, free of charge, per Article 37) and a free phone number or online contact.
- Choose the affected products, serial ranges or lists and a purchase date window, and preview how many registrations and imported serials are affected and how many customers can be reached. Article 35 requires notifying every affected consumer you can identify directly.
- Publishing puts the notice online with a serial lookup and a remedy choice for consumers. Notify emails each affected registrant once (about one email per second), in English, German, French, Dutch, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese or Japanese when you supply the translation, and the notification log downloads as CSV as evidence for authorities.
- Registration forms also offer an optional email for safety notices only (Article 35(2)).
- Drafting and previewing are free. Publishing and notifying need Pro or Parts.
Does Warrantix integrate with Klaviyo?
Yes. Paste a Klaviyo private API key under Settings → Integrations and Warrantix sends Warranty Registered, Warranty Claim Submitted and Warranty Claim Updated events to each customer profile, with product, order, warranty dates and certificate link as properties. Use them to trigger welcome, review-request or win-back flows.
Which emails are sent, and from what address?
Certificate emails, claim confirmations, claim status updates and optional expiry reminders are sent from warranty@getwarrantix.com with your store name as the sender. Set a reply-to address in Settings so customer replies reach your team. Merchant claim alerts go to the address you choose.
What happens to customer data if I uninstall?
Registrations, claims and photos are deleted when Shopify sends the shop-redact webhook after uninstall. Customer redaction requests remove names, emails and photos while keeping product and serial records for traceability. See the privacy policy for details.
How do I get support?
Email info@midorry.com. Replies usually arrive the same business day (Japan time). Include your store URL and, for claim or certificate questions, the certificate code.
